We recently had our first #DesigningChange meetup of 2015 at the new Radish Lab offices. It turned out to be our biggest (and best) meetup yet, and a great way to start the year. It was also our first sponsored meetup, thanks to Givkwik!
You can see our stars all the way down the block!
We focused on storytelling and how non profits, small companies, and anyone else who wants to get their story out into the world can go about crafting something personal and powerful.
Our CEO, Alana Range, moderated a great panel with two wonderful speakers: Allison Davis, a writer and broadcast producer for StoryCorps; and Sarah Judd Welch, CEO of the community development studio Loyal. They discussed everything tactics and tricks to help you find and focus your story when you feel stuck, to the value of having a good editor, to how best reach your audience and stand out from the crowd. And that was before we even got to audience questions!
It was a great night - meeting lots of new faces and seeing old ones, and running over by half an hour because there was just so much to talk about.
It’s amazing how much #DesigningChange has grown in just a few short months. I’ve already met so many amazing people and speakers, and it's exciting to learn something new every month from both a panel of incredibly intelligent and the insightful folks who walk in our door.
We have so many ideas for the future and I can't wait to see where our fourth, fifth, and tenth meetups take us. 2015 has only just started, and who knows where we'll be in 2016!
On February 18th, we’re holding our fourth (fourth!) meetup here at our office. It’s all about Data Stories. Our speakers are Mike Ernst from the Municipal Art Society of New York (MAS) and Allyson Kenward from Climate Central! Check out our meetup page to find out more, and we hope to see you there!
